Patio Party!

I spend a lot of time on my patio and I cannot wait for the 4th of July, were having people over and our patio will be where everyone sits, eats and mingles. It's nice to have everyone out there, relaxing, especially when the weather has been so nice.

The only thing I hate is that this year we got so much rain, now the mosquitoes and gnats are horrible! I recently bought this umbrella screen and I'm hoping it'll work perfectly to keep the bugs away from our food. It's big enough and goes right over the top of my patio table umbrella. Plus there's plenty of room for us to sit under there too, if the bugs get really bad.

For my guests like to play games in the yard and hang out outside the umbrella I'm hoping the mosquito repeller I got takes care of the other bugs. It's supposed to attract the pesky mosquitoes and kill them, I'm excited about it, because sometimes bug spray and tiki torches just don't do the trick.  Most of the people playing ladder golf in the yard will really appreciate this repeller.

After all my guests have left, I plan on relaxing. It's a long weekend so I'll have plenty of time to lay in my hammock and read my book. Nothing is more relaxing than laying in the shade on a comfortable hammock. I cannot wait for the rest of summer and all the fun activities that come with it.

Emergency Storm Kit

Storms this past weekend were brutal in Minnesota. Over 500,000 people lost power, houses were damaged, trees down, streets were flooded. Luckily my neighborhood wasn't effected, other than a few broken branches. Plenty of my friends and family were hit though and that makes me want to prepare, just in case next time I'm not so lucky.

Owning a generator is the number one necessity when you're hit with a big storm. When the power goes out, everything seems to stop. No lights, no sump pump, no refrigerator. With no electricity, it's hard to do anything. This 3300W Generator has more than enough power to get my family and I through if the power goes out.

Some houses in the Twin Cities have multiple trees down and it could take days before the city can get out and help. If trees and large branches are down in unsafe areas and blocking driveways or doorways it's important to start clean up immediately, safely of course. Owning a chain saw is a must. This Ryobi 18 inch is perfect, and gas powered. It's light weight with lots of power, sure to make clean up easy.

When the power is out and it is storming like crazy, you'll need to know what's going on outside. With no TV the best way to learn about the storm is with an emergency radio. This Voyager Emergency Radio has everything you need to wait out the storm, including a hand crank generator, an LED light, USB support, a cell phone charger, and an AC adapter.

And when everything else fails you, this Emergency Power Kit will definitely save the day. It pumps out 1500 continuous watts with over 2000 peak watts to safely power your TV, microwave, lights, small refrigerator, lights and more. It can even jump start your vehicle, inflate a tire and recharge your cell phone, MP3 player and laptop computer. You could live for days with this nifty device.

Don't get stuck in the middle of a storm with out any essentials. I know after this past weekends storms I'll definitely be stocking up on these storm emergency helpers. Heartland America has everything you need for this storm season.

High Gas Prices

The Midwest is seeing record high gas prices this season, and it's getting real old. I've been doing everything I can to save on gas, finally I came across this Fuel Doctor!

With this nifty device you can increase your vehicles MPG by 20%! It just plugs into your vehicles power system, including fuel injection systems, and improves fuel efficiency. And because you use less gas, you reduce your carbon footprint.

Unless I plan on riding my new bike to work I'm definitely getting a Fuel Doctor. Experts say gas prices could rise to almost $5/gallon this year and I cannot afford that. Save even more with free shipping on this great product as well at heartlandamerica.com.

Out of Season Goodies

They always say you're supposed to buy things when they're out of season because you'll get them for cheaper. For some reason I always forget. Spring time rolls around and I purchase my lawn mower at full price, or temperatures start dropping and then I finally start looking for a good space heater. Not this year. I'm definitely buying things out of season to save as much money as possible.

Even though I know it's only June I plan on purchasing this Electric Snow Thrower. The winter in Minnesota tends to come a lot sooner than anyone desires and I want to be prepared. This Electric Snow Blower is a Heartland returned item, which makes it even cheaper! Even though there may be cosmetic blemishes, who cares when I'm getting it for under $100?!

Same goes for this Premium Heater. New, these things can run for well over $200 and I do not want to spend that much in the dead of the winter. I'm buying this one now for under $120!

Don't wait until the last minute to get your necessities, get them early, for much cheaper.

Office Supplies Galore!

I just recently upgraded my home office into my work office and now I need all the things I have at work to be at home too. I need to make sure I can get all the items I need for my office without spending more money than I make!

So many of the things I use in my everyday job are so expensive! For instance, my paper shredder at work probably cost at least $500, but I found this paper shredder at Heartland America for only $89.99. The high performance motor and blade system crushes everything in its path including stacks of paper, CDs, paper clips, staples and more. This will work perfect for getting rid of all private documents.

My computer at work has all of my documents and photos on it and I need a way to transport items and take it home with me, to be able to work from home. This USB Digital Picture Storage will definitely do the job. With just one click, Photo Bank automatically searches for and saves all your digital photos. Once the first backup is done, each future backup only copies the recent additions or modifications.

I print several packets of paper a day and need a printer at home that can handle it all. This Panasonic Multifunction Printer will do the trick.  It prints and copies everything in rich monochromatic 600x600 resolution and scans color images at interpolated resolutions of up to 19,200x19,200 dpi. Also features 150-sheet paper tray that minimizes the need to refill, Quick ID Copy function that copies both sides of an original consecutively, print speeds of up to 19 pages per minute. Doesn't get any better than that!

With these items my office at home is starting to take shape. I know if I ever need inexpensive office items, Heartland America will always be there for me.

Father's Day Deals!

It is always buying my Dad presents for Father's Day, he has everything he could ever need, and he never gives me ideas on what to buy him. Luckily Heartland America has plenty of options for Dad and all for reasonable prices. I'll definitely be shopping at Heartland for Dad this year.

I could get him new sunglasses, he's always loosing his. These Gargoyles Shakedown Sunglasses have 100% UV protection and they look cool! The also feature lightweight flexible nylon frames with locking snap-pin stop hinges, soft rubber temple tips and non-slip soft nose pads.

I can never go wrong getting Dad tools, he's always in the garage working on something. I know he has a lot of tools already but he has to many mis-matched tools that maybe a whole new set would be good for him. Especially this 184 Piece set with screwdrivers, wrenches, drill bits and plenty more.

But there is nothing Dad really loves more than his motorcycle. He has had the same helmet for probably the last 10 years and could definitely use a new one. This flame helmet will keep him protected and make him look cool.

Or maybe I should get him a new vest, I know he could use one of those too. This "Live to Ride" leather vest is just his style.

No matter what gift I choose, I'm sure my Dad will love it. He loves Heartland America and no matter what I get him I know he'll be happy.
