Thanksgiving Entertainment

My family is large and they are all coming over tomorrow for Thanksgiving. While I'm cooking, serving and cleaning, I need to find a way to keep everyone entertained. While most adults will be chatting and watching football, the kids will be running wild and in order to keep my house from looking like a tornado went through I'd like to find some way to keep the kids entertained.

I'm thinking about getting this Bonce-N-Score Basketball game. It's small enough to fit in one area and everyone can play, they can even make teams and play against each other! You just grab one of the balls, bounce it off the trampoline and into the baskets above. I think they'll enjoy it.

If that doesn't work we can always play a family game. This 15-in-1 Game Center should have more than enough options for us. All your favorites are here - from chess and checkers to Mancala and Old Maid! It'll get the attention of the kids and the adults.

While I'm cooking I enjoy listening to Christmas music. Some may say it's too early to listen to Christmas music on Thanksgiving, but it puts me in the spirit. I got this Memorex Boombox, I pop in my favorite CD and cook away. It's the perfect size for my kitchen countertop and even plays the radio.

When dinner is done, the drinks are sure to be flowing at my house. I can never keep up on the ice! No matter how much you make, it seems to disappear. This Portable Ice Maker is perfect. Everyone will for surely have ice, cold drinks at my house on Thanksgiving night.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Heartland!

Emergency Car Kit

Well, unfortunately it's that time of year again in Minnesota. And it's cold, really cold. We tend to read those horrible stories about people getting stranded in their car for days at a time and I want to make sure I'm prepared if something terrible ever happens.

There's a few things you need to get your car ready for the brutal MN winters.

1. A warm blanket. When you're stranded and your car runs out of gas, you need to find a way to keep warm. Always keep a blanket in your car.

2. Mighty Jump Pro. Let's say your stuck and your car isn't starting and there is no one around to help jump your engine. This Mighty Jump Pro will come in awfully handy.

3. Always have warm gloves with you. Who knows if you'll have to get out of your vehicle to look for help, the last thing you need is frost bite.

4. If there is snow on the ground, you should have your boots on. All of your body heat escapes through your head and limbs, without warm boots you're less likely to stay warm..

5. Food. You can always eat snow to keep you hydrated but you could be stranded for days and you need food. Keep protein rich foods in your glove box.

This Twister Flip Stunt Car is the sure to make your Christmas morning a hit. What kid doesn't want a remote controlled car? Especially one that no one else has. Features large rear wheels, futuristic styling lights up and handheld remote that lets you move it forward, backward, left, right & stop.

Who doesn't like games? This gift is endless for your family. It's a 15-in-1 game table! This
game center is crafted from wood & features one pullout drawer that keeps the individual game pieces neatly organized & ready to use and two slide-out interchangeable game tables. A great way to get the family together on game night.

Holiday Shopping Continued...

Last week I got an early start on my Christmas shopping and this week I plan on buying some more things to put under my tree. Every year gets harder and harder trying to find things that my kids will love and that wont break my bank. I have two teenagers and a young child so each year I get to shop for a variety of things.

For the teenagers I was thinking...

Maybe a new camera. This Flip Camera is pretty cool! And for only $19.99 I don't have to worry about my son breaking it on accident.

Or if I feel like spending a little more money, this USB Slide Camera also has all the features.

My youngest is obsessed with remote control anything, and loves trucks! I think he'll definitely enjoy this Ford F-150 R/C Truck.

And since remote control trucks are so common, and he doesn't have a boat, I might just get him this High Speed R/C Boat. He'll love it at the cabin in the summer.

My teenage daughter never seems to put her iPhone down, this charger station will be a great stocking stuffer for her.

Less than 6 weeks until Christmas, have you started shopping yet?

Early Holiday Shopping

Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away and that means Christmas isn't far behind. As much as I don't want to I know I have to get started on my holiday shopping. I'm trying to find gifts for my family this year that are not only inexpensive but unique, luckily Heartland America has me covered.

My mother will love this Nuwave Cooktop Oven it heats up twice as fast, uses up to 90% less energy & boils water in just 90 seconds!
http://www.heartlandamerica.com/browse/item.asp?P=I&PIN=166961&SC=WBH11000
And for my Dad has been dying for a new bow, I've been saving this year to get him the one he wants. This Fever Crossbow is easy to use, feels good in your hands and is perfect for novice shooters and veteran hunters alike. Hopefully he gets the buck he's been waiting for!

http://www.heartlandamerica.com/browse/item.asp?P=I&PIN=139796&SC=WBH11000
Every year I get my Grandma something special and this year is no different. She needs a warm, cute pair of slippers to bum around her house in. These pink moccasins are 100% wool and will definitely keep her toes warm.
http://www.heartlandamerica.com/browse/item.asp?P=I&PIN=147725&SC=WBH11000
This is just a few of the things on my Christmas list, once all these items are purchased I can move on to the kids. This year I'm starting holiday shopping sooner rather than later, I don't want to get behind. If I order by December 18th I'll have everything placed under the tree before Santa leaves the North Pole!
