Super Bowl Extravaganza

Every year millions of people tune in to watch the Super Bowl, at my house there tends to be a lot more people eating and drinking rather than they are watching. Having a Super Bowl party is about fun and enjoyment. It's exciting to host a party and make sure that all of your guests are having a good time. I figure there's only a few things that make a great party: entertainment, food and comfort.

A good TV is a necessity. Not just one TV, but several. You want to make sure your guests who are in the kitchen chatting aren't missing a second of the game. Smaller TV's are perfect for the kitchen or dining room area, put the TV right next to the chips and dip.

A comfortable guest is a happy guest. The worst part about a party, in general, is not having enough places to sit. Bar stools are a perfect solution, they're easy to move, they can be put next to a breakfast bar or even posted up right next to the couch; an easy solution to make sure everyone is sitting and comfortable.

Since most of my guests aren't football lovers, there's not a whole lot of watching going on. After all great food really is what makes a good party. I have my guests bring dishes to share, everything from chips and dip to meatballs, to hot dogs. There's not such thing as too much food. And with good food comes good cocktails, keeping drinks filled and ice replenished is always a task.

Although there's a lot of mingle-rs at my party, there's still some people watching the game. Be sure to cheer on your favorite team and let your guests know who your household is cheering for. After all, it's not just a party you're hosting, it is the Super Bowl.

Home Projects= Good Tools

Recently I started to remodel my bathroom. It is amazing how a task that you think will be so small and easy ends up becoming an all day and night project. After running into many roadblocks I came to find out I needed more tools to finish the project, then I originally owned.

My bathtub that I purchased didn't fit in the original spot where the old one was, so I needed a saw to cut not only the supporting wood pieces of the bath, but also the water pipes had to be moved over and inch and a half. I purchased the Buffalo Tools Reciprocating Saw from Heartland and luckily got the job done without breaking my budget.

Every good project needs a good drill. The one I had continued to die and didn't have enough power to reverse screws out of the bathtub support wood. It became very frustrating having to stop my project and wait for my battery to recharge. Once I purchased my Reciprocating Saw I knew that Heartland's products were authentic and trustworthy so I decided to order the 21.6V Cordless Drill Kit, made by Tornado Tools. They offer extra batteries for a really cheap price, ever since I ordered this drill I haven't had any problems.

All household projects take a lot of time, effort and hard work but you'll always need tools to get the job done. I know I can count on Heartland to help me with all my household projects in the future.

Convection Cooking

A friend of mine received a convection oven for Christmas and has been cooking with it every week since. It takes a lot of effort and time to prepare a roasted turkey or chicken normally, but I've come to realize that convection ovens are complete time savers in the kitchen.

When I finally purchased my convection oven I found the most amazing recipe online at www.food.com, a 5lb. roasting chicken, some salt, pepper, herbs, lemon juice and an onion is really all you'll need to make the most fabulous roasted chicken. And instead of spending hours in the kitchen, it only take 20 minutes at 400 degrees in your convectional oven.

Convection cooking does more than just cut the time of cooking in half, it makes all cooking easier. I can broil, deep fry, microwave and even steam with my Pro Line Convection Oven. Who needs any kitchen appliances when you can have this?

A Winter Gift Idea

Unfortunately I'm one of those lucky people who celebrates a Winter Birthday. It's always too cold to go out, and when I was younger I had the choice of a bowling birthday or a hotel, which was no fun when all my friends got to have a pool party or go to the beach. And for gifts I never received water toys, or bikes, it was always warm boots, or a sled.

Now that I'm older I find a lot of things in the Winter that I love for Birthday gifts, and actually don't mind a Winter Birthday. I have come to appreciate receiving a warm stylish jacket as a gift. This year I'm asking for the Women's Winter Jacket from Heartland. It's faux fur and has a beautiful snowflake pattern. Plus it's super soft with plenty of pockets. This will definitely be #1 on my Birthday list this year.

And what goes better with a cute jacket than cute boots? The Women's Sand Boots will match my new jacket perfectly and keep my feet warm when the snow's falling. They have a micro-fiber upper & have a zipper front so I wont need to fuss with getting them off and on.

So if you know someone with a Winter Birthday or need gift ideas for an upcoming anniversary, check out heartlandamerica.com for the best Winter gifts!

Cooped up inside...

Even though it has been very nice in Minnesota lately, the brutally cold weather is coming and I will need things to keep me entertained while I'm stuck inside.

One thing that's always entertaining, playing video games. When my nephews come over, the number one thing they want to do is play games. This 89 Game Wireless Video Game System keeps them entertained for hours. With sports games, arcade games and music games the fun doesn't stop.

It's so peaceful and relaxing staying inside and watching movies. The John Wayne Movie Collection includes Sagebrush Trail, McClintock, Hell Town, The Desert Trail, The Lawless Frontier, Riders of Destiny and more.

The worst part about Winter is that I can't exercise outside, and gym memberships are so expensive. Luckily the Vibrating Body Fitness Machine has helped me get closer to my New Year's Resolution and I don't have to spend thousands of dollars doing it.

Who doesn't like Poker? Having friends over for drinks and a night filled with poker is so fun! The 300-Piece Poker Chip Set includes 300 championship edition 11.5g poker chips in white, red, blue, green and black. It's perfect for a poker party.

Don't let the Winter temperatures hold you back from doing anything you want to do. Heartland America has everything you need to keep busy while you're cooped up in the cold weather.

Snow Will Be Fallin'

States across the country have begun to see snow, I know here in Minnesota we got a few inches on New Year’s Eve, the roads were horrible. Heartland America has plenty of items to get you through the winter and especially through those brutal snow storms.

The Snow Joe Snow Blower is sure to help you with those horrible blizzards. The Snow Blower is electric so you won’t have to worry about spending tons of money on gas, plus its 13 amp motor can throw up to 600lbs. of snow. Some Snow Blowers can cost well over $500, Heartland gives you a great price of only $199.99!

The terrible ice that comes with winter can be scary, especially for the elderly. One little slip can create a horrible fall. The Bare Ground Deicer will help prevent those falls. This 2.5 Gallon bucket will melt the ice on your sidewalk in no time.

Unfortunately over the years there has been a few time where I find myself stuck in a ditch, a parking lot, or sometime even on my street it’s always nice to carry a shovel with you for those times in need, and the big shovels just don’t fit well in my car. This Collapsable Expandable Shovel is a perfect fit. It weighs only 2lbs. and closed it stands only 2 feet high.

Let Heartland America get you through this winter and those awful snow storms that are bound to come.
