Rainy June

As I'm sure most of you have heard our dear friends to the north have been receiving a great amount of rain and are experiencing major flooding. The governor of Minnesota has even declared a state of emergency for several counties.

That got me to thinking... what might someone need to get through a flood, severe weather or even a tornado? Since June has the most rain fall in Minnesota and the weather has been highly severe the last couple weeks, what better time to get prepared than now?

Sometimes in these severe storms power can go out for hours or even days at a time. Be prepared so you and your family aren't without power. This 1000W Generator features a 120V AC outlet with circuit breaker, 12V DC outlet, DC trickle charger for charging your car battery(cables included) and up to eight hours of run time per tank of gas at half load.

When the power does go out and you don't have a generator to get you going, it's best to know what's going on outside your house and in your area. The Voyager Emergency Radio has a 7-band NOAA weather alert radio with local weather reports in all 50 states, full-spectrum shortwave receiver for international broadcasts and an AM/FM receiver. This is a must have storm emergency item.

When the lights go out, make sure you know where your flashlights are. The light will help you get to safe location when the storm rolls in. This Tactical LED Flashlight  has 4-way switch with bright, dim, flash and off settings, rugged waterproof aluminum housing with rubber seals, scratch-proof ABS lens, high-quality Cree brand 5W 10,000-hour LED, adjustable focus 1X to 2000X and black anodized finish.

Once the storm has moved on and everything has settled down, there will be lots of debris to clean up. A good chain saw will get you through all the roughage and broken trees. This Ryobi 18 Inch Chain Saw has 3-point vibration isolation technology, you can cut for extended periods with less fatigue.

You can never be too safe when it comes to Mother Nature. Be prepared when that summer storm rolls into your area.
