Every year millions of people tune in to watch the Super Bowl, at my house there tends to be a lot more people eating and drinking rather than they are watching. Having a Super Bowl party is about fun and enjoyment. It's exciting to host a party and make sure that all of your guests are having a good time. I figure there's only a few things that make a great party: entertainment, food and comfort.
A good TV is a necessity. Not just one TV, but several. You want to make sure your guests who are in the kitchen chatting aren't missing a second of the game. Smaller TV's are perfect for the kitchen or dining room area, put the TV right next to the chips and dip.
A comfortable guest is a happy guest. The worst part about a party, in general, is not having enough places to sit. Bar stools are a perfect solution, they're easy to move, they can be put next to a breakfast bar or even posted up right next to the couch; an easy solution to make sure everyone is sitting and comfortable.
Since most of my guests aren't football lovers, there's not a whole lot of watching going on. After all great food really is what makes a good party. I have my guests bring dishes to share, everything from chips and dip to meatballs, to hot dogs. There's not such thing as too much food. And with good food comes good cocktails, keeping drinks filled and ice replenished is always a task.
Although there's a lot of mingle-rs at my party, there's still some people watching the game. Be sure to cheer on your favorite team and let your guests know who your household is cheering for. After all, it's not just a party you're hosting, it is the Super Bowl.
