Labor Day!

To me, Labor Day is a "free" day Americans receive in favor of their hard work and achievements throughout the year. To many others it may also symbolize the non-official end of summer. Either way Labor Day is another holiday and we as American's get to choose how we spend our day off of work.

I personally have a BBQ with my family.

I know some of my friends go camping on their long weekend.

Some others just sit at home and relax.

And one friend actually uses the long weekend as a time to travel.

How do you spend your Labor Day?

State Fair Essentials

It's that time of year again, The Great Minnesota Get Together started today and I can't wait to attend the fair. I hear there's plenty of new attractions and all sorts of new foods to try this year.

My plan is to go later in the day to avoid the crowds and the heat. If I can even get there, I seem to get lost every year going to St. Paul. I'm prepared this year, I set up my GPS and got the address all typed in. I don't want to waste my time driving around looking for the State Fair.

I also know that having a good pair of shoes is essential for a day at the fair. It is the worst feeling when you can't enjoy yourself because all you're thinking about it how bad your feet hurt. With the 360 acre perimeter that the state fair grounds have, you definitely start to feel it after walking around for a few hours.

Since I'm going later in the afternoon I know once the temperature drops it does start to get cool. Minnesota's weather can be so unpredictable, you must be prepared for everything. I always bring a zippy with me, this way I know I wont be cold once the sun goes down.

With all the attractions at the fair I want to be able to fit everything in while I'm there. Keeping my day on a schedule is necessary. I keep my watch on and space everything out equally. I see the animals right when I walk in, then it's on to a pork chop-on-a-stick, I must see the new Luminarium Exhibit and it is always entertaining to see a show at the Leinie Lodge.

By the time the day is through I've walked miles and eaten myself silly. This may sound funny, but I know this year I'll definitely need my waistband stretched. I plan on eating almost all the new foods at the fair for 2012. I might be miserable when it's all said and done, but at least I'll know I didn't miss anything.

What are you excited to see at your State Fair?

It's amazing how expensive prescriptions and health care products can be these days. I can't seem to go to a pharmacy without spending hundreds of dollars on the things that I need. It's nice to know at Heartland America I can find all the personal care items I may need for a fraction of the price.

Plus I don't have to worry about shipping charging because all standard shipping is free when I click through the blog.

New Fall Products!

It was very chilly when I woke up this morning, definitely did not feel like August 16th. I am so used to the heat we've had in Minnesota this summer that 65 degrees feels so cold! But the cold weather is just another sign that fall is right around the corner. Luckily Heartland has tons of new Fall products to welcome the upcoming season...

Fall Fashion

Before the leaves start to fall it's time to start thinking about your new fall jacket or what kind of boots you plan on wearing. I love fall fashion and can't wait to get all the freshest looks this year.

Including this Women's Patch Leather Coat , it's not too heavy and bulky for the fall but just right. Plus it looks great with a nice pair of jeans and has 100% polyester lining. As soon as the nights start to cool down, I plan on throwing this on to keep the chill off.

My husband likes to wear his denim jacket in the fall. It's durable and warm enough when he's working outside. Plus the two front pockets button are perfect for a man who carries everything with him.

Even though it's only August and were talking about fall fashion, soon enough the snow will start to fall. Everyone needs a good pair of boots to shovel in or just to throw on when you head to the grocery story. I don't like my boots to be too clunky or bulky otherwise it's hard for me to get around. Something comfortable and easy to slip on is the best for me.

I always buy my son a good fleece jacket for autumn. He works indoors so he just needs something simple to zip on when he heads out to his car. A high collar and a zip front is really what he likes.

And then of course, there's my daughter, she'd rather be fashionable than comfortable. But luckily I found her the perfect coat. Not only is it cute, but it'll keep her warm when she walking in between classes at college. With zipper pockets and decorative buttons I know she'll feel stylish in this warm wool/polyester coat.

Make sure you're fashionably prepared for the fall, after all it is right around the corner.
